Customer specifications, national standards, our own guidelines, and laws and regulations, provide a foundation for the fish farmers’ efforts to deliver products that meet all needs and expectations in the markets in which we operate.

Our suppliers’ quality assurance systems are based on the philosophy of continuous improvement of both product and production process.


GlobalGAP standard
NRS has decided to adopt the GlobalGAP standard for its production companies. The standard is primarily made for environmental conditions in the production activities and for working environment for the employees. Focus areas in the standard are food safety based on generic risk assessment principles, environmental protection and implementation of good aquaculture practice to minimize negative impacts from the production, global criteria for working environments and workers’ health, security and welfare. This is in addition to local and national working welfare responsibility. At last the standard sets criteria for fish welfare and fish health in the production units.

Certification of the systems in the production companies is planned to be obtained during second half of 2010.
